I’ve received quite a few certificates and awards in my time – doesn’t that make me sound old! However, the official looking envelope that fell through my door today made me more proud than anything before as I received a letter inviting me for the Long Service Awards for volunteers at East Cheshire Hospice. I’ve only managed 5 years so far and there are many who have been volunteering for 10, 15 or more so I’m still a relative newbie. It’s a wonderful place to volunteer – a friendly and welcoming environment.
This year is their 25th Anniversary so there are lots of fundraising activities underway. I’m trying to think of something a little bit different to raise some money for them so if you’ve any ideas they’ll be welcome (preferably something that doesn’t involve me throwing myself from an aeroplane or anything equally dangerous!).
